Lip reader worked out what Prince Louis really said to Kate after stealing show at King’s birthday parade

As London gears up for a weekend of royal festivities celebrating the King’s official birthday, attention is also turning to a younger royal who’s quietly captured the public’s affection — Prince Louis.

Despite being only seven, Prince Louis has made quite an impression during royal outings, becoming known for his animated expressions, spontaneous remarks, and endearing behavior that often steals the spotlight at formal events.

This weekend’s Trooping the Colour — the traditional ceremony honoring the monarch’s birthday — is expected to draw crowds to the Mall. While the event centers around King Charles, many royal fans are secretly hoping for another memorable moment from the youngest child of Prince William and Princess Catherine.

A Centuries-Old Tradition With a Touch of Whimsy

For more than 260 years, Trooping the Colour has celebrated the sovereign’s ceremonial birthday with military displays, a grand procession, and the Royal Family’s balcony appearance, capped by a dramatic RAF flypast.

This marks King Charles’ third year leading the celebration, but he’s often had to share the limelight, particularly with his lively grandson.

At last year’s event, Prince Louis drew widespread attention during the balcony appearance alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. While the adults stood composed, Louis’s excitement was hard to miss.

“Papa, Look at All That Colour!”

One standout moment came during the flypast. Lip reader Gaby Lane shared that Louis turned to Prince William, his father, and exclaimed, “Papa, Papa, Papa, look at all that colour!” Princess Catherine responded with a warm smile, gently reminding him the planes had already passed. This sweet interaction revealed the affectionate dynamic between the young prince and his parents.

Big Sister Duties: Charlotte Steps In

Louis’s enthusiasm wasn’t limited to the skies. During the parade, he was seen moving to the beat of the Scots Guards, dancing slightly in place.

According to lip reading expert Nicola Hickling, Princess Charlotte gently told her younger brother, “You have to stop doing that. Watch the parade.” Ever cheeky, Louis replied with a defiant “I won’t,” followed by a playful “Nope.”

Earlier, Charlotte was also spotted telling Louis to lower his hands during the national anthem — a clear sign of her growing sense of responsibility as an older sibling.

In Awe of the Crowd

During their carriage ride along the Mall, Louis reportedly pointed out the sea of onlookers, telling his mother, “Look over there, Ma.” Princess Catherine’s calm reply — “Right, look at that” — highlighted another tender mother-son exchange amid the pageantry.

Why Prince Louis Continues to Win Hearts

Despite the formality of royal traditions, it’s the unscripted, human moments — like Louis’s curiosity, honesty, and charm — that truly resonate with the public. Though young, he has a knack for bringing levity and warmth to otherwise solemn occasions.

As Trooping the Colour approaches, many spectators will likely find themselves once again drawn to the youngest Windsor — the little prince who adds a dash of mischief and heart to royal history.
