Viral clip of Prince William and George celebrating goal has royal fans making same point

Following the father-son duo’s combined appearance in the Champions League quarter-final last night, a sweet video of Princes William and George has gone viral online.

The adorable social media film has prompted much debate, with some viewers claiming to see a strong resemblance between the youngster and another member of the British monarchy.

For those who are unaware of the couple’s public appearance, 42-year-old William brought his and wife Kate Middleton’s eldest son George, 11, to watch their favorite football team Aston Villa face Paris St-Germain in the first leg of the quarter-finals.

On Wednesday (9 April), the two were joined by William’s childhood buddy Thomas van Straubenzee in the Parc des Princes.

Although Villa lost 3-1, a video of him and George celebrating their solitary point has gone viral online.

In the video, William can be seen raising his fists in the air in delight after Morgan Rogers’ goal, before bringing George, who is wearing a purple Villa scarf, into a close embrace.

As previously said, some viewers of the film feel they have noticed a likeness between the schoolboy and another Royal Family member – William’s mother Diana, who passed away in August 1997 in a car accident while in Paris when he was 15.

“This is really cute!! “Aww,” one video viewer wrote on X (previously Twitter). “Also Prince George looking a lot like his grandma Princess Diana, even the mannerism.”

Another person agreed: “George looks a lot like Diana here.”

“George looks very much like PDiana there,” a third person commented.

Others, meanwhile, expressed how pleasant it is to witness a Royal couple having fun in public.

“I love this! This is where Prince William can really cut loose and blow off steam,” one commended the pair for their reaction.

With a laughing emoji, another continued: “George be like ‘dad stop plss’.”

“Love that passionate response by both of them, but especially William! It’s so nice to see!” wrote a third.

Another continued: “This is just a dad loving the moment him and his son’s team scored in a big match. Beautiful to see.”
