The protracted feud between the British royal family and Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has taken a new turn, with sources claiming that King Charles has basically given up on reconciling with his younger son and wife.
Since their dramatic departure from the UK in 2020, the Sussexes have regularly ᴄʀɪᴛɪᴄɪᴢᴇᴅ the royal family in high-profile interviews, the Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan,” and, most recently, Prince Harry’s novel “Spare.” The public airing of grievances has left the current king, King Charles III, extremely “hurt,” according to a new book by royal historian and novelist Robert Hardman.
In his most recent piece, “Charles III: New King.” Hardman’s “New Court. The Inside Story” offers an intriguing glimpse into the King’s thoughts on the ongoing feud with his son and daughter-in-law. According to the author, Charles attempted to listen and find a solution, but has now resigned, focused on his obligations as the new sovereign.
“Of course, the King is extremely sad about Harry and Meghan, but there is a sense of exasperation, that he has done what he can and now he is King, there are many more things to think about,” the author writes. “He has tried listening. Now he just says: ‘I don’t want to know what the problem is. I’m just getting on with my life.’”
This stance indicates a significant shift in the King’s policy, since he appears to have abandoned any further efforts to reconcile with the Sussexes, who have continued to ᴄʀɪᴛɪᴄɪᴢᴇ the royal family.
Recent reports of a schism between Meghan Markle and King Charles have fueled tensions between the Windsors and Sussexes even more. According to royal scholar and commentator Angela Levin, Meghan was “very upset” over the King’s plan to offer his own brand of jam, fearing that he was encroaching on her turf.
However, Levin refuted this concept, adding that it is “not in his nature” for the King to purposely undercut his daughter-in-law. She noted that the reported incident was probably an overreaction on Meghan’s side, emphasizing the Sussexes’ sensitive and strained relationship with the rest of the royal family.
The protracted controversy continues to rivet the public’s attention, with the King’s apparent withdrawal from attempting reconciliation signaling a significant development in the intricate and very emotional struggle that has captivated the Windsor family.
It was meant to be her biggest hit of the year, but it has already proven to be a tremendous flop. There is widespread conjecture on social media that Meghan Markle may have already given up on her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
Has Meghan Markle Given Up On Her Lifestyle Brand?
Even though she debuted a few goods, including highly costly jams that she gave out to her friends and influencers, little is known about her brand and whether or not it will be available in shops soon.
To be honest, Meghan Markle appears to be completely unaware of the brand’s trajectory. That’s primarily because she didn’t generate much buzz when she first announced it earlier this year.
Sure, Meghan presumably wants to blame Kate Middleton for her failure, given that she introduced her line just a few weeks after the Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis, but the truth is that no one cares.
Nobody wants to buy Meghan Markle’s jams or her chicken feed or even her dog food for that matter.
