Is the black part on the shrimp’s head a brick or feces?
The dark stuff on the shrimp’s head is really go.nads (in male shrimp) or eggs (in female shrimp) rather than feces. It is one of the shrimp’s reproductive organs and contains reproductive cells.
Can we eat that?
Many people mistake it for excrement since it is black and looks like trash, but it is actually a part of the shrimp’s reproductive system. If you do not want to consume this section, you may easily remove it while preparing the shrimp.
