Donald Trump has branded his portrait as ‘truly the worst’ he’s ever seen

The US president has lashed out over a ‘distorted’ self-portrait after making a sh0cking accusation about the artist.

President Donald Trump has taken to his social media platform Truth Social to call out a portrait of him drawn by artist Sarah Boardman, which has been displayed in Colorado State Capitol since 2019.

Trump said that he was very upset by the portrayal, even noting that same artist drew a ‘wonderful’ portrait of former president Barack Obama.

The 78-year-old said that the five-year-old presidential portrait was ‘truly the worst’ he had ever seen.

He even accused Boardman of ‘purposely distorting’ the portrait.

In a brutal statement, the Republican leader said: “Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before.”

He added: “The artist also did president Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst.”

However, the president didn’t stop there.

He even suggested that Boardman had ‘lost her talent as she got older’.

Trump added that the people of Colorado had been battling in order to have the portrait removed for years.

He said: “I would much prefer not having a picture than having this one, but many people from Colorado have called and written to complain.

“In fact, they are actually angry about it!”

But it wasn’t just the artist that was called out in his statement, Trump also fired shots at the governor of Colorado, Jared Polis.

He described Jared Polis as ‘radically left’, and branded him ‘extremely weak’.

Trump continued: “I am speaking on their behalf to the Radical Left Governor, Jared Polis, who is extremely weak on crime, in particular with respect to Tren de Aragua, which practically took over Aurora (Don’t worry, we saved it!), to take it down. Jared should be ashamed of himself!”

In the comments, some users agreed with Trump, that the portrait didn’t accurately portray him.

One said: “That looks nothing like him lol,” as another added: “He’s right. That looks nothing like him.”

But others joked, suggesting that the portrait actually looks ‘better’.

One said: “They actually made him look better – I mean not good but better.”

And another noted: “The irony is that the portrait of Trump is actually flattering and makes him look younger.”
