Prince Harry ‘needs help’ says psychologist who spots worrying signs in interview

A clinical psychologist has expressed serious concerns about Prince Harry’s mental well-being after analyzing his recent high-profile interview regarding the UK security row.

Dr. Raj Persaud, a Harley Street specialist, examined the Duke of Sussex’s demeanor during the BBC interview for The Express and concluded that Harry appears to be “struggling” and may require professional support.

The interview followed a legal defeat in Harry’s attempt to regain automatic taxpayer-funded security during visits to the UK. In his remarks, Harry openly criticized the Royal Family, discussed his fractured relationship with King Charles, and even commented on his father’s health—a move that drew widespread criticism.

Harry controversially described the legal case as a “classic establishment stitch-up,” implying that the issue of security was being used to control members of the monarchy. This accusation, along with his decision to once again speak publicly about private family matters, reignited backlash from critics who view his disclosures as inappropriate.

Dr. Persaud suggested that Harry’s public statements could be a form of emotional outreach—possibly an indirect plea for the King to reconnect, especially if direct communication channels have been severed.

He also observed that Harry seems so entrenched in his belief that he and his family are entitled to full protection that he may be unable or unwilling to shift perspective.

In his analysis, Dr. Persaud wrote: “I sincerely hope Prince Harry is receiving sound guidance. From what I observe, he seems to be in a difficult emotional space and, respectfully, could benefit from support to help him move forward and rebuild ties with his family.

Unfortunately, based on his current approach—marked by frustration and public grievances—a genuine reconciliation seems unlikely.”

A royal insider reportedly told ITV News that Queen Elizabeth II would have been “deeply dismayed” by the content of the interview. Further backlash came after Harry speculated on King Charles’s health, stating he’s unsure “how much longer” his father has. This particular comment was widely condemned as insensitive.

Speaking to The Telegraph, a royal source described the remark as being in “poor taste.” Another insider added: “The King is a compassionate man facing numerous challenges—he shouldn’t have to contend with this kind of personal attack from his own son.”
