According to reports, Prince Harry now regrets making a significant declaration in public before consulting the late Queen.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” the organization said in a statement shared on its official social media accounts.
After they made their announcement, the Queen also made her own, which said: “Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family.
She also said there would be a ‘period of transition’ for Prince Harry and Meghan as they depart from their roles, with a one-year probational period where the royal family would re-discuss the agreement, PEOPLE reported.
Together with their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the pair has stayed in California since moving there from the UK.
The pair would not be returning as senior royals, according to a 2021 statement from Buckingham Palace.
It said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.
“Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service. The honorary military appointments and Royal patronages held by The Duke and Duchess will therefore be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among working members of The Royal Family.
