“Why did I get divorced?”
Well… it all started with my birthday.
Last week was my birthday, and somehow, everyone forgot.
My wife didn’t wish me.
My parents forgot.
Even my kids completely missed it.
I went to work hoping at least my colleagues would remember.
Nothing.
Not a single “Happy Birthday.”
Then I walked into my office, feeling completely forgotten.
My secretary smiled and said,
“Happy birthday, boss!”
Finally! Someone remembered!
She made me feel special and invited me out for lunch.
After lunch, she invited me back to her apartment.
When we arrived, she smiled and said,
“Do you mind if I go into the bedroom for a minute?”
“Sure,” I said.
Five minutes later, she came back carrying a huge birthday cake.
And behind her came my wife, my parents, my kids, my friends, and all my colleagues, shouting:
“SURPRISE!!!”
I looked around…
Then looked down…
And suddenly realized I was standing there with absolutely nothing to hide behind.
Nobody said a word.
My wife just stared at me.
I stared at the birthday cake.
And that’s how my birthday went from…
“Nobody remembered me”
to
“I wish nobody had remembered me.”
