One evening at dinner, Little Johnny’s dad smiled and said,
“Johnny, why don’t you say the prayer tonight?”
Johnny looked nervous.
“But… I don’t know how to pray.”
His dad replied, “Just thank God for your family, your friends, our neighbors, and everyone who needs a little help.”
Johnny nodded, folded his hands, and began.
“Dear Lord…”
“Thank You for my family, my friends, and our neighbors.”
“Thank You for the visitors who came over yesterday and somehow managed to eat every single cookie and all of my ice cream.”
“Please bless them… and kindly remind them they already know where the grocery store is.”
“And Lord, please help Dad find the TV remote he’s been looking for all week.”
“I hid it in my toy box because I wanted him to play with me instead.”
The room went completely silent.
Johnny smiled proudly and finished,
“Amen.”
Dad slowly looked at Mom…
Mom tried not to laugh…
And dinner turned into a family comedy show.
