“Breakfast and… Dinner”
On a crowded bus, a college girl kept holding tightly onto a banana in her back pocket, afraid it might get squashed in the crowd—after all, it was her breakfast.
As the bus approached the third stop, a man standing behind her asked politely:
“Excuse me, are you getting off at the next stop?”
Not wanting to encourage conversation, she replied sharply:
“No way.”
The man hesitated, then said:
“Sorry, in that case, could you please give me…”
He gently touched her hand—the one holding the banana.
She snapped:
“Hey! This banana is my breakfast. I’m not giving it to you.”
The man calmly replied:
“Yes, your breakfast is still in your pocket… but what you’re holding right now is my wife’s dinner.”
