A Scoutmaster was giving a lecture to his troop about survival in the harsh desert.
“If you ever find yourself lost in the scorching desert, what are the three most important things you should have with you?” he asked.
Several scouts raised their hands, suggesting essential survival items like matches, dried food, and a pocket knife.
From the back of the room, little Timmy eagerly raised his hand.
“Yes, Timmy?” the Scoutmaster asked. “What would you bring?”
“A compass, a canteen of water, and a deck of playing cards, sir,” Timmy replied confidently.
“Well, the compass and water make perfect sense,” the Scoutmaster said, nodding. “But why on earth would you need a deck of cards in the middle of a barren desert?”
Timmy grinned and explained, “Because, sir, the very second you sit down and start playing Solitaire, someone is bound to walk up behind you and say, ‘Put that red nine on that black ten!'”
