When you quarrel with your mother-in-law and then have troubles with your coworkers at work, it’s easy to believe that kindness and wonderful things are far away. But kindness exists everywhere, even if it does not appear to be so. Sometimes a stranger can do something so nice that it makes you feel better and makes the world appear brighter.
The Story:
Yesterday, my 5-year-old daughter came home from daycare and smashed her piggy bank. She stated that she observed the cleaning lady, an elderly woman, crying in the kitchen. Then she heard the teachers remark that the owners had raised the cleaning lady’s rent, and she didn’t have enough money to cover it. My daughter didn’t comprehend the money figures, but she believed her piggy bank could help.
My husband returned her money, purchased a new piggy bank, and promised to tackle the situation. He went to the daycare, spoke with the cleaning lady, and discovered she was raising her 7-year-old grandson alone. They rented a room in the city so that the boy could attend school. My spouse advised that she live in one of our apartments.
We were not going to rent it out anyway. My husband inherited an old apartment from his grandmother, and he did not want tenants. But he was glad to have this lady reside there. She was grateful since she no longer had to worry about rent, making life easier for her and her grandson. I’m really proud of my lovely daughter and amazing husband.
